Gary Edward "Corky" Scribner, Born November 20, 1943 in Decatur to Maurice and Irma "Skip" (Houchin) Scribner. He passed away October 28, 2016 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Corky proudly served his country in the US Navy as a Second class Petty Officer Radioman (E-5) from Feb. 1962 thru October 1966. Corky was a 1961 Graduate of Mt Zion H.S. and retired from Illinois Bell in 1994. He was a #1 fan of Mt Zion sports, missing very few games since 1967. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf with his very loyal golfing buddies on Tuesdays at Moweaqua Golf Course, having 2 hole-in-ones. He loved Illinois Basketball and Football along with the Chicago Bears.

Corky was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Cathy and Tina Scribner and both sets of grandparents. He is survived by his wife Mary (Page) Scribner, Son, Scott (Rhonda) Scribner of Decatur and daughter, Kelly (Dave) Piercy of King, NC. grandchildren Julia, Alex and Ryan, brother Stephen (Becky) Scribner of Decatur and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Sunday October 30, 2016 in South Shores Christian Church with visitation prior to service from 1-3 pm also in the church. Memorials may be given to South Shores Christian Church or DMH Hospice. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Special thanks to all Corkys' family and very close friends who gave him their full support during their very trying times. Especially his precious and very special wife, Mary.
