DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

Flossie Pearl Baker, 96, of Assumption died March 24, 2014 in Heritage Manor, Pana, IL.

Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Assumption.

Flossie was born April 25, 1917 in Beecher City, IL the daughter of William M. and Mary M. (Schneiter) Sloan. She married Elmer Baker December 1937. He preceded her in death May 16, 2002.

Flossie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Assumption. She retired from Mueller Company in Decatur, IL in 1975, where she had worked for many years. She and Elmer spent 25 winters, as snowbirds, in Texas. Flossie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and playing the organ.

Surviving are her son David (Helen) Baker of Normal, IL and daughter-in-law Jan Baker of Assumption; four grandchildren: Julie (Tony) Hollingsworth of Normal, IL, Troy Baker of St. Louis, MO, Curtis (Allison) Baker of Fort Collins, CO and Sean Baker of Assumption, IL; four great-grandchildren: Laura, Bradley, Ella and Liam.

Flossie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Leland Baker and eleven brothers & sisters.
