Evelyn L. "Bootsie" Lowe, 84 of Moweaqua, died February 26, 2015 in St. Mary's Hospital with her family by her side.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2015 in First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua.

Visitation will be from 11-1 pm on March 2, 2015 also in the First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua.

Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua or Moweaqua Veterans Memorial Park.

Bootsie was born December 15, 1930 in Moweaqua, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Standley) Howard. She married Wayne P. Lowe, July 4, 1948 in Moweaqua , he preceded her in death on December 2, 2001. They shared over 50 years together.

Bootsie was previously mayor of Moweaqua as her father was before her. She loved politics, volunteering, and was an active citizen of her community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Moweaqua Lions Club. In addition to her volunteering spirit, Bootsie was on the board of the Moweaqua Veterans Memorial Committee and the Moweaqua Park District.

Surviving is her daughter, Louise "Pug" Lowe and her husband Bill Kelsey of Ft. Mill, SC, granddaughter Angela (Ben) Clagett of Long Beach, CA; sisters Wilma "Tokie" Myers of Mt. Zion and Betty (PJ) Cearlock of Englewood, FL

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, and 8 brothers and sisters.
