Eugene F. "Gene" Shampine, Jr., 48, of Decatur died August 4, 2015.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Salvation Army Corps with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to Salvation Army or Oasis Day Center.

Gene was born April 13, 1967 in Decatur, IL the son of Eugene F. and Patricia A. (Hickman) Shampine.

Surviving are his brothers: David and Mark Shampine, both of Decatur, IL; sisters: Denise Mowry-Martin of Denver, CO, Susan (Bernie) Smothers of Decatur, IL, Julie (David) McGinnis of Forsyth, IL, Cynthia Shampine of Eau Claire, WI, Patricia (James) Robinson of Decatur, IL and Francine (Roger) Lower of Moweaqua, IL; nieces and nephews: Michelle and Eric Shampine, Staff Sgt. Robert Mowry, Gregory and Timothy Mowry, Sean Martin, Leslie Atteberry, Todd Shampine, Amy Wilson, Julie Rohman, Daniel, Aaron and Heather Ehrhart, Kristopher McGinnis, Lindsay Tipsword, and Sidney, Lucas and Sylvia Lower; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers: Gregory and Michael Shampine and nephew, Christopher Mowry.

Gene will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
