Edna Fay Compton Harris, of Moweaqua, passed away September 19, 2025, the morning after her 92nd birthday, in HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2025 in First United Methodist Church, Moweaqua.  A visitation will begin one hour prior to service time.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Woodlawn (Oddfellows) Cemetery, Moweaqua.

Edna was born on September 18, 1933 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Clara (Oller) Compton.  She married Roger W. Harris on January 21, 1967 in Shelbyville, IL.  He preceded her in death on January 4, 1996.

Edna was a graduate of Sparks Business College and then went to work in the office for Jarvis Oil Company in Decatur, IL.  After marriage, she devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother.  Edna was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua, until her health no longer allowed.  She was a longtime member of the Flat Branch Unit of the Shelby County Home Extension.

Surviving are her son, Roger W. Harris, Jr. and daughter, Alice M. Harris, both of Moweaqua, IL.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Edna was the best mother that either of her children could ever ask for, and will be forever missed.
