Doris Rose House, 89, of Moweaqua, died January 13, 2022 surrounded by her daughters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Social distancing and masks are encouraged.  Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church or Moweaqua Senior Citizens.

Doris was born on September 5, 1932 in West Frankfort, IL, the daughter of Ray and Clara (Ewing) Summers.  She was happily married to Virgil Earl "Red" House for 72 years. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2021.

Doris attended Grace Baptist Church of Moweaqua and was a member of Fame Evangelical Church.  She was best known to her family and friends for her homemade baked goods, especially her pies and chocolate sheet cakes.  She worked as the cafeteria manager at Moweaqua and Central A&M schools, retiring after 25 years.  She enjoyed playing BINGO and Farkle with her Moweaqua Senior Citizen friends and attended many Christian Women's Bible studies.

Surviving are her daughters: Wini (Chip) Aschenbrenner of Niles, MI, Barb (Andrew) Keaney of Gautier, MS, Sandi (Rick) Callison of Moweaqua, IL and Earleen Crowson of Louisville, MS; grandchildren: Michelle (Brent) Kastner, Natalie (Tyler) McCullough, Dawn Aschenbrenner, Eric (Nikki) Callison, Josh (Mary Margaret) Crowson and Richard Crowson; great-grandchildren: Emma, Drew and Meagan McCullough, Jakob and Madelyn Kastner, Cara and Cayden Crowson and Graham Callison; and sister, Edith Dillard of Duncanville, TX.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents and sisters, Helen Sandusky and Lillian Owens.
