Donna Sue Howse, 85, of Assumption, died December 19, 2022, in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Assumption Christian Church, Assumption, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, also in the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption.  Memorials may be made to the Assumption Christian Church.

Donna was born on May 22, 1937 in Assumption, IL, the daughter of Floyd P. and Lois (Polk) Howard.

She married James F. Howse on July 25, 1953 in Assumption, IL. They were married for 69 years.  He survives.

Donna was a member of Assumption Christian Church, where she loved to sing.  She was also a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). She was a former bookkeeper for Don Kuhle Implement Co, Federal Mutual Insurance, Trulock Foundation, and Glassworkers Credit Union.  Donna loved being with her family and enjoyed spending time at the "Howse Timber".

Surviving is her husband, James; son, James K. (Jean Ann) Howse of Assumption, IL; daughters: Cindy (Jerry) Medler of Assumption, IL and Julie (Joe) Coffman of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Mike (Kari) Medler, Amy (Jimmy) Palmer, Virgel (Melissa) Coffman, Emily (David) Matlock, Christopher (Emily) Howse, Jessica (Kyle) Wiseman, Janie (Brice) Griesemer, and Justin (Tayler) Howse; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, James (Jan) Howard of Kewanee, IL; and sisters: Mary Himes of Assumption, IL and Karen Howard-Smith of Taylorville, IL.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brother, Robert Howard; and sister, Shirley Porter.
