Donald E. Myers, 89, of Moweaqua, died June 2, 2023 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 in First Baptist Church of Moweaqua.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, also in the church.  Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Moweaqua.

Donald was born on September 1, 1933 in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Charles and Marie (Hott) Myers.  He married Janice A. Harris on August 30,  1953 in Moweaqua.  She preceded him in death on October 28, 2021.

Donald was a member of First Baptist Church of Moweaqua. He loved God and was a faithful servant. Donald  was instrumental in the building of the new church, participated in many mission trips and served as a trustee. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Radar Technician during the Korean Conflict and later worked for Inland Telephone Company, retiring after 35 years. After retirement Donald continued to work as owner & handyman of Myers Construction.  He was an aviation enthusiast, avid woodworker, motorcycle rider, snowmobiler and farmer.  Donald dearly loved his family and grandkids.

Surviving are his children: Mike (Carol) Myers, Diane (Mike) Burgener and Tom (Amy) Myers, all of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Travis Myers, Erin Goss, Nicholas Myers, Kelly (Stephen) Gregory, Leann (Ramiro) Estrada, Morgan (Wesley) Culpepper, Scott Myers, and Sean Myers; and great-grandchildren: Alexia, Braedon, Tristen, and Kora; sister, Beverly Matlock of Decatur, IL; and brother, Jack (Judy) Myers of Moweaqua, IL.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Janice; grandson, Trent Myers; and brother-in-law, Jim Matlock.
