Sammy Dean Becker, 79, of Moweaqua, died February 11, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Decatur.

Dean was born on May 8, 1942 in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Fred and Nellie (Wetzel) Becker.  He married Janet Fortner on June 2, 1963 in Sullivan, IL.  She survives.

Dean was a member of Fame Evangelical Church of Moweaqua.  He was a life-long farmer and enjoyed woodworking, riding horses, collecting model trains and his beloved St. Bernard, Max.  Dean also worked as maintenance for Eastern Star Home in Macon, IL.

Surviving is his wife, Janet; son, Terry J. (Christine) Becker of Moweaqua; daughter-in-law, Terry Hanner of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Samantha (Karis) Becker of Decatur, IL, Travis Becker of Decatur, IL, Tara Becker of Moweaqua, IL and Sydney Becker of Moweaqua, IL; and great-grandson, Theo Becker, of Decatur, IL.

Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers, three sisters and son, Scott D. Becker.
