David R. Tippens, 78, of Decatur, died November 4, 2020, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services, with full military rites, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2020, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.  Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

David was born March 18, 1942 in Essex, MO, the son of Rudolph and Ruth (Hearn) Tippen.  He was affiliated with VFW Post #7308 of Wisconsin, the DAV Chapter #17 of Decatur,  the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Geneva Lodge #44, and a member of The Shriners.  David served in the United States Navy, later working as a plumber at the Great Lakes Naval Station.

Surviving are his sisters, Linda Robinson of Mt. Zion, IL and Connie (Jim) Pritchard of Boody, IL.

Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers and one sister.
