David K. Lawler, Sr., 81, of Assumption, IL Died July 28, 2017 in his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00, prior to service time. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

David was born February 3, 1936 in Decatur, IL, the son of John and Minnie (Borders) Lawler. He married Virginia Auten February 13, 1960 in Decatur. She survives.

David was a member of Fame Evangelical Church of Moweaqua, IL and an honorary member of the Long Creek Fire Department.

Surviving is his wife, Virginia; sons: David Keith Lawler, Jr. of Decatur, John H. Lawler of Joliet, IL, Robert (Tina) Lawler of Palmyra, VA, Randy Lawler of Assumption; daughters: Marchelle (Ronald) Lawler of Decatur, Tina Rajagopalan of Chatham and Rosalee Lawler of Assumption; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, John Richard (Charlotte) Lawler of Decatur.

Preceding him in death are his parents, two brothers, one sister, and grandson, James Andrew Lawler.
