Darrell D. Hall, 68, of Moweaqua, died March 27, 2024 in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, IL.  Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, also in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Adams-Gorden Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to All American Junior Sheep Show, Central A&M FFA or Central A&M Gym Fund.

Darrell was born on February 21, 1956 in Sycamore, IL, the son of Richard E. and Betty (Drake) Hall.  He married Melanie Gorden on March 14, 1981 in Moweaqua, IL.

Darrell was a grain farmer and raised world class sheep, winning 30 National Champions and 3 Supreme Champions over all breeds.  He was a previous board  member of American Oxford Sheep Association as well as Illinois Oxford Sheep Association.  He loved traveling the country showing his sheep and visiting with other breeders.  Darrell took great delight in mentoring youth in producing, raising, fitting  and showing sheep. He excelled in FFA, participating in numerous contests and winning the State and National Runner-Up Sheep Production Award, as well as earning his American FFA Degree.  He thoroughly loved all sports, especially basketball where he enjoyed participating, watching and coaching.

Surviving are his wife, Melanie; daughter LeAnn Hall of Brookings, SD; brothers: Dennis (Donna) Hall of Kingston, IL and Darwin (Melody) Hall of Steward, IL; sisters: Diane (Tony) White of Sheridan, Il and Doreen (Mark) Akers of Neillsville, WI; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Esther Gorden of Moweaqua, IL.
