Darlene Winter, 81, of Assumption, died March 14, 2019 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., prior to service time.  Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption.

Darlene was born February 12, 1938 in St. Elmo, IL, the daughter of Howard and Effie (Mattix) Kruse.  She married Russell Winter March 29, 1958 in Assumption.  He preceded her in death June 4, 1989.

Darlene was a longtime waitress at Roots Café, along with several other restaurants in Assumption.

Surviving are her son, Rusty Winter of Assumption; grandchildren: Russell (Christine) Winter of Stonington, IL and Ashlee Winter of San Antonio, TX; and sisters: Roselyn Jones of Pana, IL and Dorothy (Vernon) Green of Divernon, IL.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
