Cindy was born June 27, 1953 in Norfolk VA., the daughter of Robert and Carol (Schweizer) Schapmire. She married Brent Jostes September 1, 1973 in Moweaqua, IL. He survives.

Cindy graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971 and attended Eastern Illinois University for two years. She completed her degree at Millikin University in 2008. Cindy worked in Human Resources for several banks in the area.

Cindy was a woman that wore many hats: daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and consummate prankster. She loved music and enjoyed going to music festivals.

Surviving is her husband, Brent; son, Adam (fiancée, Becky Griffith) Jostes of Champaign, IL; granddaughter Evelynn "Evie" Griffith-Jostes and mother, Carol Schapmire of Decatur, IL.

Preceding her in death are her father, Robert Schapmire; brother, Bryan Schapmire and her grandparents.

Thanks to our "Friday Night Crew", who we have been meeting with for close to 30 years, for their laughter and friendship.

A special "Thank You" to our sister-in-law, Danielle Jostes, for being Cindy's guardian angel for her final hours.

The spirit is not born to perish, but ever will thrive and flourish.
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountaintop, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, shall you truly dance.
