DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

Charles R. Manley, 86, of Naples, FL., formerly of Assumption, IL, passed away June 8, 2014, following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Bethany Cemetery, Assumption.

Charles was born April 21, 1928 in Herrick, IL the son of David and Nellie (Pummill) Manley. He married his wife, Cecilia, 45 years ago. She survives.

Charles attended grade school and high school in Assumption. He was the service manager for Hansen Chris Craft in Naples, FL before opening the Tamiami Marina, now Port-O-Call Marina. He built several homes in Naples, as well as, Assumption. Charles was a coin dealer, member of the Naples Coin Club and the Gulf Coast Coin Club. He loved gardening and farming. But most of all, he loved the people he met along the way.

Surviving is his wife Cecilia; daughter Sandra; grandsons: Devin, Cody and Collier; brother Jim (Audrey) Manley and brother-in-law Jim Allgood.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sisters Helen Allgood and Juanita Smart.
