Carl Gene Galvin, 75, of Danville, died January 19, 2025, in VA Illiana Hospital, Danville, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 in Danville National Cemetery.
Carl was born on August 30, 1949, in Pana, IL, the son of Carl E. and Patricia A. (McCarty) Galvin. Carl was a resident at Courage Home in Danville, IL. He was a member of VFW and attended Danville VA Chapel. Carl served 2 tours in Vietnam where he was a Staff Sergeant and was very proud of his career in the Army. Carl also was a Prisoner of War.
Surviving are his son: Randy Gene Galvin, of California; brothers: David (Sandy) Galvin, of Lincoln, IL, Michael (Linda) Galvin, of Lincoln, IL, Terry (Jenny) Galvin, of Cornland, IL, and Roger D. Cox, of Moweaqua, IL; sisters: Barbara (Jerry) Ledoux, of Arizona, Debbie (Wayne) Woolen, of Sullivan, IL, and Vickie (Dennis) Faber, of Missouri; brother-in-law: Phillip Birdwell, of Sullivan, IL; aunt: Martha "Marty" (Terry) Sloan, of Atlanta, IL; uncle: George (Ruth) McCarty of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, step dad, George Cox, two sisters and loving grandmother, Maw-Maw McCarty.
