Carl "Al" Berner, 83, of Owaneco, passed away peacefully, June 30, 2015, in Springfield Memorial Hospital with his family at his side.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 also in Seitz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption with Full Military Honors by the Assumption Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice.

Al was born February 15, 1932 in Assumption, the son of Karl and Agnes (Storey) Berner. He married Shirley Hardy on April 19, 1958 in Assumption. She survives.

Al was a retired farmer and served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Assumption VFW Tacusah Post #6577.

Surviving is his wife, Shirley; daughter, Linda (Rich) Dossett; sons: Mike (Marla) Berner, Larry (Sue) Berner; grandchildren: Craig (Sarah) Berner, Matt (Kayla) Berner, Blake (Lacey) Berner, LeAnn (Nick DeVore) Dossett and Brian Dossett; step-grandchildren: Larry (Leslie) Farris and Becky Stinson; great-grandchildren: Mason DeVore and Cruze Berner; step-great-grandchildren: Lucas Stinson, Cody and Bailey Farris; brothers: Harold Berner and Paul Berner and sister, Audrey Dudra.

Preceding him in death are his parents.
