Brian A. Knecht, 63, of Decatur, died January 1, 2023 in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 in Seitz Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.

Brian was born on February 8, 1959 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Richard and Alice (Newman) Knecht.  He was formerly married to Kathy Knecht.

Surviving are his children: Richard Lee (Kris) Knecht, Jason Alan Knecht, and Ashley Knecht, all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Lily, Emma, and Kanon; brother, Phillip (Jodi) Knecht of Montana; sisters: Pamela (Jim) Huskey of Billings, MT, Sheila (Jim) Palmer of Montana, Rebecca (David) Trich of Montana, Angela Knecht of N. Carolina, and Michelle (John) Bechter of Montana; his best friend, Kathy Knecht and beloved cat, Jazz.

Preceding him in death are his parents and brother, Jeffrey Knecht.
