Brenda A. Cushing, 83, of Assumption, died June 17, 2025, in Pana Health and Rehab Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025 in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.  Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Brenda was born on February 14, 1942 in Tower Hill, IL, the daughter of Homer and Nellie (Thompson) Litz.  She married Clarence Cushing, Jr. on December 29, 1961 in Pana, IL.  He preceded her in death on September 8, 2023.

Surviving are her daughters: Virginia (Todd) Hegardt of Pana, IL and Rita West of Nokomis, IL; son, Clarence Edward (Christina) Cushing of Witt, IL; grandchildren: Anastassios John (Susan) Ziros of Las Vegas, NV, Alexander (Savana) Ziros of Taylorville, IL, Cody (Shawnee) West of Nokomis, IL, Vanessa (Evan) Smith of Rochester, IL, Conner Cushing, Anthony Cushing of Schram City, IL, Michael Merriam, and Kazz (Kyle) Friend; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Marion Litz of Shelbyville, IL and Roger Litz of Colorado; and sisters: Crystal Taylor of Witt, IL, Lanetta (Allen) Ostermiller, Christine (Michael) Denton of Pana, IL, and Nancy (Bill Ludwick) Litz of Pana, IL.

Brenda loved her family, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, two brothers, and one sister.
