Billie Lee Mitchell, 92, of Moweaqua, died August 2, 2022 in Randall Residence, Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Burial, with full military honors, will be in Bethel Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua.

Billie was born on November 16, 1929 in Osbernville, IL, the son of  Walter and Gracie Faye (Pumphrey) Mitchell.  He married Jean Evelyn Damery on August 20, 1949 in Blue Mound.  She survives.

Billie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a graduate of Blue Mound High School, where he met his beautiful and longtime love, Jean.  They were married and started his farming career in 1951 in the Blue Mound area.  In 1965 they  moved to Moweaqua where he continued to farm with his family.  Billie retired in 2008, but enjoyed helping with field work part time.  Family and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Jean; children: Pam (Jerry) Nagel of Ottawa, IL, Randy (Cheryl) Mitchell of Moweaqua, IL, and Sharon (Mike) Tintori of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Craig (Jiraporn) Mitchell, Cole (Rachael) Mitchell, Connor (Ashlynn) Mitchell, Angelo (Ashley) Tintori, Ashley (Bryce) Damery, and  Anthony (Kelsey) Tintori; and great-grandchildren: Natalie, Colin, Avery, Adyline, Audrey, Alaina, Gianna, Dominic, Braxton, Cooper, and Conley.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister, Bernice, and great-granddaughter, Emmie.
