Betty L. Rhodes, 89, of Assumption, IL, passed away on February 4, 2026 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Assumption, IL with a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to service time. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Assumption, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Assumption Public Library.

Betty was born on October 5, 1936, in Morrisonville, IL, the daughter of Otis Skinner and Goldie (Fox) Skinner. She married Orville Rhodes on November 19, 1953.  He preceded her in death on December 26, 2016.

Betty was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Assumption. She enjoyed crocheting and reading, and volunteered at the school for many years. A homemaker, Betty dedicated her life to caring for her family and her home.

Surviving is her son, Paul (Tonda) Rhodes of Pana, IL; daughters, Cathleen Jermaine of Taylorville, IL, Karen Gould of Assumption, IL, and Mary (Rick) Bradshaw of Assumption, IL; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Della Fixsal of Morrisonville, IL; sister-in-law, Pat Taylor of Camden, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Orville; parents; sons-in-law: Joseph and John; and one grandson.

Betty's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Betty and her family.
