Bessie Mae King, 95, of Mt. Zion, died March 3, 2025, in HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Central Christian Church, Decatur, IL, with a visitation one hour prior to service time.  Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.

Bessie was born on September 18, 1929 in Dover, TN, the daughter of Arlin and Clara (Bledsoe) Williams.  She married Harold L. King on August 27, 1948 in Decatur, IL.  He preceded her in death on December 29, 2017.

Bessie was a devoted member of Central Christian Church of Decatur for over fifty years, dedicating her time to various roles. She served as member of the Diaconate, fellowship committee, weekday host to visitors, and was an active participant in the Disciples Sunday School Class.

Bessie was an amazing homemaker and loved her family very much.

Surviving are her children: son, David (Nancy) King of Decatur, IL; daughters: Connie (Jon) King of Moweaqua, IL, and Lori (Roy) Roberts of Niantic, IL; ten grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, son Paul, six brothers, and three sisters.
