Obituary

Barbara Jean Jostes, 88, of Moweaqua, passed away March 7, 2018, in Moweaqua Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 in South Macon Township Cemetery, Macon, IL, followed by a Dessert Bar Celebration at the First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Friends & family please join us.

Memorials may be made to Moweaqua Living Memorial Tree Park or Moweaqua Township Park District.

Barbara was born June 12, 1929 in Walker, IL, the daughter of Homer and Mayme (Walker) Andrews. She was raised in Macon, IL, where she met and married Richard E. "Dick" Jostes. He preceded her in death October 16, 2013.

Barbara was the youngest of five sisters, Marquerite McDaniel, Carolyn Bahr, Virginia Bohlen and Dorothy Tichenor Bohlen. She worked as a US Postal clerk in Bethany, IL and retired as Postmaster after 34 years of postal service. She loved to volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, IL. Barbara also helped develop the Moweaqua Ambulance Service, Moweaqua Living Memorial Tree Park and Moweaqua Veterans Memorial. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua and a proud board member of the Moweaqua Public Library.

Surviving are her children: Mark (Diane) Jostes of Moweaqua, IL, Brent Jostes of Macon, IL, Randy (Danielle) Jostes of Wheaton, IL and Carol Becker of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren: Kay (Paul) Ebelherr, Kellene (John) LaMothe, Craig (Liz) Jostes, Leslie Jostes Klockenga, Adam (Becky) Jostes, Jon (Kelly) Jostes, Mike (Ashley) Jostes, Kathryn (Dave) Peterson, Joe (LeAnna) Becker, Patricia Becker and Daniel Becker; great-grandchildren: Payton and Preston Ebelherr, Kendall Klockenga, Kate and Maddie Josstes, Evelyn Jostes, Isabella and Hudson Jostes, Brittani (Dustin) Camp, Tiernan Becker, Daltyn and Rilyn Camp.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, four sisters, daughter-in-law, Cindy Jostes and son-in-law, Bill Becker.

The Jostes family extends a special THANK YOU to the dedicated and very caring nurses, CNA's, dining & management staff of the Moweaqua Rehabilitation & Care Center. We also want to thank DMH Hospice for their expertise and assistance.
