Barb was born on January 29, 1938 in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Ora Irene (Hall) Schutte. She worked for General Electric for thirteen years and graduated from Richland Community College. Barb also worked for her son, Jeff in his insurance business, Agency One of Moweaqua. She married the love of her life, Richard Gregory on December 23, 1972.
Barb had two sons that she loved with all her heart and devoted her life to, Michael Ray of Omaha, NE and Jeffrey Scott, who welcomed her into Heaven. She and Richard raised their boys on their family farm south of Moweaqua, instilling in them the value of hard work, integrity, faith, perseverance and kindness that defined her life.
Barb enjoyed time with her family and friends, traveling, spending time at their cabin and working in her yard. She had a passion for caring for her flowers which were as beautiful as her spirit. She was an exceptional cook who loved preparing homemade meals that brought her friends and family together. Barb was a remarkable woman of faith who loved her God. She had the most beautiful smile and was a pillar of strength to all who knew her. She showed her compassion, generosity, kindness and grace for others in the way she loved them. Barb's greatest joy was her family.
Barb is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Michael; three special granddaughters: Nichole, Rachel and Sarah; one much loved great-niece, Journey Ann; a brother-in-law; and four nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and son, Jeffrey.
