Barbara A. Collins, 92, of Moweaqua, died October 4, 2024, at Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Moweaqua.

Barbara was born on December 1, 1931, in rural Shelby County, IL, the daughter of Tommie and Virginia (Ireland) Tucker.  She married Robert A. Collins on May 6, 1948, in Paducah, KY.  He preceded her in death on April 13, 2008.

Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church in Moweaqua and American Legion Auxiliary in Shelbyville.

Surviving are her daughters: Judy Simpson of Noblesville, IN, Patty (Ron) Cress of Strasburg, IL, and Vicky (Scott) Long of Sullivan, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers Thomas Ralph (Illene) Tucker of Decatur, IL and Jack Tucker of Lincoln, IL.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, son David Collins, daughter Janet Collins, son-in-law Russell Simpson, and sisters Betty Swinger and Wilma Jean Brown.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Shelbyville Manor, St. John's Hospital, Decatur Memorial Hospital, and HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital for the exceptional care our mother received.
