Obituary

Andrea Lynn Kroenlein, 51, of Moweaqua, IL passed away peacefully at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Woodlawn (Oddfellows) Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to Moweaqua Public Library.

Andrea was born to Linda and Donald Kroenlein on August, 22, 1969. She was a member of the Bethany High School Marching Band, Color Guard, Spanish Club, Track Team, and Yearbook Staff and maintained a strong love for 80's music that may have began when she did her famous Color Guard routine to David Bowie's "Let's Dance".

She married Jeff Hayden of Shelbyville on December 29,1990, whom she later divorced, but with whom she gave birth to her two beloved boys, Brock and Blake.

Andrea waited tables and prepared food for various restaurants and businesses in the Moweaqua area for nearly 20 years. She touched the lives of patrons of many local eateries including Ye Olde Towne Dining Room in Moweaqua (later Bruce's Place and the Hog Trough Too), the Raspberry Room in Elwin, Route 51 Diner in Moweaqua, and The Morgan House in Shelbyville. She also cooked for the residents of Moweaqua's Nursing Home and prepared meals for area seniors for the Meals on Wheels program.

Whether through food or kindness, she found her own way to care for everyone she met, whether they were two-legged or four-legged. (She believed that animals deserved birthday and Christmas presents just as much as people did.) She was fiery and passionate and never afraid to speak her mind. She brought that same fire and passion to her love for her family.

She was often seen riding her bicycle throughout Moweaqua's streets (twice a day) and visited the Moweaqua Public Library regularly. It was not uncommon for her to fill a bag to the brim with stories, which she quickly finished and returned within the same week, always ready to read more. Favorite stories of hers include: The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Little House on the Prairie, and the many works of Stephen King.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Marietta Buckley Kroenlein and Paul Kroenlein of Moweaqua, and Karl D. Sanner and Mildred "Millie" Sanner of Moweaqua.

She is survived by her sons, Brock and Blake Hayden, her parents, Linda and Donald Kroenlein, as well as her brother, Rodney Kroenlein.
