Alice Elizabeth "Betty" Krause, 89, of Richmond, KY, formerly of Decatur, IL, died December 28, 2023 in Baptist Health, Lexington, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Renaissance, 432 N. Water, Decatur, IL 62523.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL.  Memorials  may be made to ASPCA or donor's choice.

Betty was born on November 9, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Haldon and Aileen (Hudson) Gregory.  She married Russell E. Krause in Decatur, IL on October 26, 1958.  He preceded her in death on July 5, 1990.

Betty was a graduate of Millikin University and originally taught Home Economics in Pittsfield, IL.  She continued as a substitute teacher in district #61 for nine years. Betty was a member of Alpha Chi Omega, Women's Golf Association of Fox Squirrel Golf Club in Boiling Spring Lakes, NC, Decatur Needle Arts Guild, and VFW Auxiliary of Decatur.  She loved dogs and was a patriot and active American.

Surviving are her daughters: Melinda (Fred) Bogart of Wilmington, NC and Cheryl (Ray) Richardson of Richmond, KY; grandchildren: Kay Richardson and Alex Richardson, both of Richmond, KY; step-granddaughter, Mandy Bogart of Wagoner, OK; and step-great-grandson, Zachary Bogart of Wagoner, OK.

Preceding her in death are her husband; parents; brother, Bob Gregory; and step-grandson, Brian Bogart.
